Her 1999 debut album, Kaleidoscope, saw Kelis garner attention with the hit Caught Out There and set the path for her ultimate breakthrough; 2003’s Tasty and its lead single, Milkshake.
What follows from there is the stuff career dreams are made of; a certified Platinum single and album, a slew of praise from critics and a global Top 5 hit. Milkshake’s influence on pop culture – 21 years on – still holds steady.
In the time since Tasty, Kelis has gone on to release a further three albums - 2006’s Kelis Was Here, 2010’s Flesh Tone and 2014’s Food – the latter of which saw her join the much-respected Ninja Tune stable.
