#Details

What would a self-determined First Nations music industry look like? This panel explores just that.

Launching at this year’s BIGSOUND, the Music Producers Development Program - the work of Darkwood Studio founder and BIGSOUND Elder In Residence Uncle Kev Starkey, and award-winning producer Magoo - will take five participants and offer the essential skills needed to be able to create music and archival language recordings on Country around Queensland.

Created in partnership with Arts Queensland, this session will discuss how the program will help break through the disparity currently faced by First Nations artists and workers, and create employment and development opportunities for First Nations music practitioners to make a self-determined and sustained music industry for now and into the future.
