BIGSOUND's Ideas & Innovation Hub is a dedicated forum for music industry professionals, educators, tech innovators and government stakeholders to gather, connect and shape what comes next for Australian music.
Two focused streams - Education and Technology - anchor this year's Hub, each co-programmed with specialist partners bringing deep expertise and genuine industry relationships to the table.
Partner: Amplify Music EducationEducation Stream
The first ever dedicated education stream within BIGSOUND, co-programmed with AMPLIFY Music Education. Programming reflects urgent conversations around the lack of investment in music education and the growing pathways available for young people to pursue music as a viable career - with government, industry leaders and founders all at the table.
Partner: CASTTECHNOLOGY STREAM
Co-programmed with CAST (Centre for Arts, Sports and Technology), an Australian non-profit connecting tech developers with entertainment and event businesses. Speakers and discussions explore the impact of technology on the music industry - from digital innovation in live events to emerging tools reshaping how music is made and distributed.
#Music Start Up Tech Showcase
Applications are now open for the 2026 BIGSOUND Music Start Up Tech Showcase, part of the Ideas & Innovation Hub. We're seeking innovative companies from across the world building across creator tools, live events, fan engagement, and artist and venue infrastructure. A selection committee featuring Van Picken (TEG), Drew Thurlow (Mindset Ventures), Sophie Robertson (TEN13) and Yvan Boudillet (Music Tech Europe) will shortlist startups to pitch live - with an additional cohort featured in a digital publication across the CAST network and Australian music industry.
Applications close 24th of July 12pm EST.
