After spending 20 years touring and recording with Brisbane band Powderfinger, JC has now turned his focus to the world of live music venues. His first step was opening the Triffid in Brisbane in 2014. JC and team then combined forces with Secret Sounds and Live Nation – to develop The Fortitude Music Hall in the heart of vibrant Brunswick Street Mall - it’s quickly gained a great reputation in the music industry and fans alike.
In 2019, JC became a board member of the peak Queensland music industry body, QMusic and in July 2024 was elected Vice President of QMusic.
In August of 2022 JC was approached by the Brisbane City Council and the Brisbane Economic Development Agency (BEDA) to join the BEDA Board. This is a great opportunity for JC to influence the decisions about the city, particularly for the decisions in relation to the entertainment industry. He has also joined the Better Brisbane Alliance, bringing Brisbane’s industry leaders together in 2023.
