With stop-offs in music journalism, music retail, radio, management and marketing, Stephen’s career has centered on telling the stories of music and fighting for the profile of local culture. His PR and marketing business SGC Media has achieved a dozen top ten albums, twenty ARIA nominations and many large-scale event and festival successes. They operate Radio Monitor in Australia, delivering valuable data to industry.
In 2020, Stephen took custodianship of two of Australia’s most iconic media titles TheMusic.com.au and Purple Sneakers and started Australia’s first country music online title Countrytown. The titles now reach over half a million Australians every month.
