Wairere has over 30 years in the Aotearoa music industry, event management and the tech industry. He is involved in a wide range of activities across the music industry which include: Kaitiaki for the Māori Music Industry Collective, the executive team of Soundcheck Aotearoa, Tech Co-ordinator for Music Managers Forum Aotearoa, Board member for the New Zealand Music Commission and he is the co manager of his father, artist/activist Tame Iti
