JC is a prominent Australian music industry figure, known as Powderfinger’s founding bass player and a leader in live music venue development. After more than 20 years touring, he established The Triffid in 2014, co-founded Fortitude Music Hall in 2019, and helped transform Adelaide’s Hindley Street Music Hall in 2022. Appointed Queensland’s Night-Life Economy Commissioner in 2024, he works to strengthen the state’s night-life economy and connect industry with government. In December 2025, he delivered Moonside: The Queensland Night-Life Economy Commissioner's Report 2026, a roadmap for sector reform. He also serves in industry leadership roles and received an Order of Australia Medal in 2024.
